Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 27, 2026
1. Introduction
Algarve365 ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our application and services.
2. Information we collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us and information that is automatically collected when you use our services:
- Account and authentication: Name, email address, password (if you create an account with email), nationality, profile photo (avatar), profile and content preferences (for example categories), and onboarding completion status. You may sign in with Google or Apple through the identity provider configured with our authentication service. Session and credential management uses Supabase. (In the current version of the app, Facebook sign-in is not available in the interface; if it is enabled in the future, we will update this policy.)
- Location: Coordinates and position data when you grant location permissions, including while you use features that need near-real-time position (for example maps and navigation). Location may be cached on the device for a limited time to improve performance. When you use notification features related to your area, derived location information (for example region or zone) may be sent to our backend to make notifications more relevant, according to your app and system options.
- Usage and on-device data: Preferences saved in the app; how you interact with screens and features; online presence (for example periodic updates to "online" / last-activity status while you are signed in); and data stored only on your phone, such as the local history of conversations with the assistant, to support settings and how the app works.
- Device and notifications: Device type, operating system and, where relevant, identifiers associated with the app. If you enable push notifications, the token provided by the platform (for example FCM on Android) is registered with our servers so we can send you alerts (for example community activity or event reminders). APNs support on iOS depends on project configuration; when it is active, the same principles apply.
- Content you submit: Community posts and comments, favorites, bookings, and images you capture with the camera or choose from your gallery to post or update your profile.
- Contact form: If you use the in-app contact screen, the details you enter (for example name, email, subject and message) are sent through EmailJS to our email intake system.
- External links and websites: Some content (for example business web pages, social networks or maps) may open in an in-app browser or your system browser. Those sites have their own policies; we encourage you to read them.
- AI assistant and translation: Messages you send to the in-app assistant are transmitted to our servers (and, where applicable, to subprocessors such as natural-language model providers) to generate replies. Text you ask to translate (for example community post content or other screens where translation is available) is sent to our backend to return a translation; translated editorial content may also come from our translation databases.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve our services
- Personalize your experience and provide recommendations
- Process transactions and manage your account

4. Sharing and disclosure of information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information in the following circumstances:
- With your consent: When you explicitly authorize sharing.
- Service providers: With vendors who process data on our behalf, including for example hosting and APIs, authentication via Supabase, contact form delivery (EmailJS), maps and location services, push notification infrastructure (Google/Apple, depending on platform), weather sources, in-app navigation / WebView when you open external content, and providers used for AI or translation.
- Legal requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights.
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Public content: Content you choose to make public will be visible to other users.
