Weather in the Algarve This Week: Sun and Temperatures Up to 30 ºC

If you are in the Algarve or are planning a visit in the next few days, there is good news: the weather should improve throughout the week. After a start with more clouds, wind and the possibility of some rain, the sun should gain ground and temperatures will rise again.

In Faro, the week starts with maximum temperatures close to 24 ºC to 25 ºC. From Friday onwards, the scenario changes, with more sun and highs that could approach 28 ºC to 30 ºC during the weekend.

What will the weather be like in the Algarve this week?

Monday, August 24th: sky with periods of greater cloudiness, wind and the possibility of light rain. In Faro, temperatures are expected to be around 24 ºC to 25 ºC.

Tuesday, 25th: some cloudiness will remain, but the Algarve should remain relatively protected from the more significant precipitation forecast for the North and Center of the country.

Wednesday, 26th: temperatures close to 23 ºC to 24 ºC, with periods of greater cloudiness and the possibility of some instability.

Thursday, 27th: there may still be clouds and some wind, but the cloudiness should begin to decrease in the southern region during the afternoon.

Friday the 28th: the change begins. The sun returns with greater expression and temperatures are expected to rise, with Faro reaching 27 ºC to 28 ºC.

Saturday and Sunday, 29th and 30th: the weekend should bring much more favorable conditions, with sun and highs that could be around 28 ºC to 30 ºC.

What about the sea water temperature?

According to IPMA, the water temperature on the south coast should be around 20 ºC to 21 ºC. On the west coast, predicted values are approximately between 18 ºC and 20 ºC.

Not everything depends on the sun

A cloudier day is also an opportunity to discover another Algarve. You can explore the Silves Castle, visit the Loulé Market, discover the historic center of Faro, visit the markets of Olhão or try some of the traditional flavors of the region.

When the sun returns, take the opportunity to explore the Ria Formosa, take a boat trip, hike trails, discover the interior or simply enjoy the Algarve coast.
